How it works
-
1. Set your room
Enter the width, length and ceiling height, then add doors and columns. Start from a single garage, a double garage or a spare room.
-
2. Build and place
Choose a wall-mounted, 4-post or 6-post rack and its height, J-cups, safeties, pull-up bar, storage and cable system. Place it, add benches and cardio, and add weights and accessories.
-
3. Check and send
The planner flags anything that hits a wall, a door or the ceiling. Save your design, then send it to Gym Equip for a quote.
Plans that fit the space you have
The planner draws real REP Fitness models at their real size, includes the barbell's reach, and checks pull-up headroom against your ceiling. What you see is what fits.
Questions
Is Gym Planner free?
Yes. Planning, saving designs and asking for a quote are all free, with no obligation to buy.
Do I need an account?
No. You can plan without one, and download your plan as a file. To save designs and send a plan for a quote, sign in with your email address. We email you a link; there is no password.
How much space do I need for a power rack?
A typical 4-post rack is about 1.2 m wide and 1.2 to 1.5 m deep, but you also need room to load the bar: about 2.4 m of width for a standard 2.2 m barbell with plates, and around a metre clear in front. The planner checks the bar's reach against your walls for you.
What ceiling height do I need?
Allow at least 2.4 m for most racks and for squats. Pull-ups need your head clear of the ceiling at the top, and overhead pressing needs roughly your height plus your arm reach. The planner warns when a rack or pull-up bar is too tall for your ceiling.
Can I add weights, kettlebells and plates?
Yes. Add them from Weights and accessories. They are not drawn in 3D, but they go on your quote.
Does it show prices?
No. Gym Equip prices your plan and sends you a quote, so it reflects current stock and any package deals.
Can I use it for a commercial gym?
Yes. Rooms up to 100 by 100 metres, with doors and columns, and up to 300 racks and pieces of equipment.
